Role: Regional Account Development Manager, Rare Disease (Ontario)

Reports to: National Sales Manager, Rare Disease

Location: Ontario based

What you will do

In this vital role you will support and advance Amgen Canada's Rare Disease portfolio by launching TEPEZZA, a first in market therapy for patients living with Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). You will play a key role in helping to revolutionize the area of TED, calling on Ocular Plastic Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Ophthalmologists and allied health professionals. The Regional Account Development Manager is an integral role within the RDBU Field Sales Organization, mandated to further enhance and develop our account mindset to help support patients suffering with TED.

Key Job Functions:

- Develop deep and broad knowledge of the assigned accounts, their healthcare ecosystems and customers as it relates to TED, to build and execute solution-based account plans.
- Achievement of monthly/yearly sales and call objectives.
- Further map out Key HCPs, in line with cross-functional partners, and identify treatment and referral pathways within these Accounts. Identify regionally specific opportunities to optimize the treatment pathway for TED patients.
- Lead account initiatives by engaging, mobilizing, and energizing the cross-functional team (i.e., marketing, medical, patient access and key accounts) - without direct authority - to prioritize and work collaboratively on mutually beneficial solutions.
- Work with medical & marketing to establish better understanding of the identification, diagnosis and treatment of TED patients in Canada through educational events, in-services and symposia.
- Establish an account specific understanding of patient treatment pathways. Work with members of the patient support team to help customize solutions for the account specific needs.
- Contacting physicians and other Healthcare Professionals (eg. Nurses, Pharmacists, Advocacy Groups) to develop business and expand the clinical use of applicable Amgen product(s) in the territory.
- Required administration including territory analysis and proper use of Amgen system(s).
- Adhere to Amgen pharmacovigilance policies for reporting Adverse Events (AE) and Product Complaints (PC).
- Ensuring passion for performance and achievement, is balanced with patient centricity and compliance – win the right way.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree.
- Resides in Ontario.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ideally 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales/ account management experience.
- Experience in Rare Disease areas is a strong asset.
- Experience in Ophthalmology and/or Endocrinology is a strong asset.
- Advanced account mapping and management skills that demonstrate an innovative approach to patient centric solutions.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a dynamic & collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills.
