Duties and Responsibilities : Design and assist in the preparation of fire protection drawings and schematics, adhering to NFPA standards and building codes.
Including any required calculations.
Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations.
Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
Perform site investigation to verify the existing site condition, if required.
Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, shop drawings, quantity take-offs and measurement.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements : Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Fire Protection or a related field.
3+ years of work experience in fire protection design.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and other software programs as required.
Experience with ESFR & High-piled Storage Application is an asset.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as theOntario Building Code (OBC), NFPA standards, etc.
Knowledge of HydraCALC.
Ability to meet deadlines / successful completion of deliverables.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using Revit.
