Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Authentication and Identity Management Reliability Engineer to join our agile team supporting critical infrastructure within the firm's authentication and identity systems. This position involves supporting and enhancing our Kerberos infrastructure on Linux (Red Hat) across a large-scale environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about infrastructure stability, automation, and monitoring, and has strong experience in system administration and scripting.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide senior-level support for firm-wide authentication and identity management solutions, including both vendor and internally developed systems.
- Support, maintain, and enhance the Kerberos infrastructure in the Linux environment (Red Hat), handling operations for over 100,000 servers.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues at all levels of the stack, while implementing long-term stability and observability improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to PagerDuty alerts as necessary.
- Document all activities thoroughly with an aim toward automation of repetitive tasks.
- Develop operational tooling to streamline support activities
- Collaborate with internal users, vendors, and clients to troubleshoot issues and improve system performance.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
- In-depth knowledge of network and enterprise security concepts as they relate to authentication.
- Advanced system administration skills on Linux (Red Hat) and Windows.
- Proficiency in Python, UNIX shell scripting, and automation techniques.
- Experience supporting and scaling infrastructure in large enterprise environments.

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with modern authentication technologies and trends such as multi-factor authentication, cloud platforms, and web-based identity protocols.
- Experience with monitoring, observability tools, and incident response frameworks.
- Experience working with Kerberos infrastructure in high-availability environments.

Soft Skills

- Strong interest in Authentication Services and Information Security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of writing detailed documentation and presenting technical content.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and independent while also being a strong team player.
- Comfortable in end-user support roles and client-facing communications.
- Proactive and eager to adopt and implement new IT trends.

Certifications

ITIL, CISSP, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) certifications (preferred but not required).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
