The institution faces a multi-year structural deficit, liquidity pressures, aging systems and technology, and the broader fiscal and policy challenges affecting the post-secondary sector. At the same time, VIU is working closely with government, external auditors, and partners to restore stability and build a sustainable financial future aligned with its mandate.

With the upcoming departure of the Chief Financial Officer, VIU is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help lead the financial turnaround and support the Interim President and leadership team through a period of substantial change.
