Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

- 8 years of experience in software development.

- 5 years of experience in distributed cloud computing including 3 years in containerization, container orchestration, or operations management.

- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

- 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.

Preferred qualifications

- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.

- 3 years in a complex, matrixed organization.

- Experience implementing and managing Agentic AI solutions and workflows for compute infrastructure.

Like Google's ambitions, the work of a Software Engineering Manager goes beyond just Search. You provide technical leadership, manage a team of engineers, and drive product strategy across areas such as AI, distributed computing, and networking. You optimize code, guide teams, and oversee large-scale deployments across multiple locations.

The emergence of Agentic AI enables autonomous systems to reason and execute tasks with minimal human intervention. GKE has an opportunity to build foundational infrastructure and tools focused on agents, agentic interfaces and integrations.

Responsibilities

- Shape the future direction of GKE consumption, delivering new interfaces and leveraging agentic workflows.

- Set clear expectations, meet regularly for performance and development coaching.

- GKE from the control plane through core infrastructure by designing, communicating, and driving effective decisions.

- Build a network across internal stakeholders and partner teams to deliver exceptional service.
