Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant, Windows Administrator

The purpose of this job is to support and work on remediation of vulnerabilities and support Windows Systems, Virtualization, implementing and troubleshooting of critical IT systems.

This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of Incident Report (IR) and/or proactive needs for business.

Responsibilities

1. Vulnerability remediation.
2. Expert in configuring and administering Windows Server 2008/2012/2016.
3. Good understanding of Exchange 2016 and Outlook related issues.
4. Maintain servers both physical and VM environment with maximum uptime.
5. Mastered in troubleshooting Windows OS issues, handling escalated L3 issues in Windows environment.
6. Firm understanding of Windows security including file system permissions, file sharing, event logging, performance monitoring, and disk administration.
7. Good understanding of Active Directory and Network Infrastructure, Forest and Domain Infrastructure.
8. Responsible for third-level support for all server-related issues. Implement security policy and virus protection.
9. Participate in complete system builds, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
10. Preparation and maintenance of documentation of technologies, standards, and procedures.
11. Administration of server consolidation program through use of VMware ESX server and VMware Virtual Center, creating VMs, using/building VM templates and customization files, and scheduling tasks.
12. Assist in P2V and V2V conversion of Windows server editions using enterprise VMware converter and also install VMware tools on those machines.
13. Hardening and monitoring of VMs ESX server's CPU, Memory, Disk, Network Utilization for Security Compliance.
14. Server hardware troubleshooting using ILO and HP SIM.
15. Hardware firmware upgrade for physical servers like HP, Dell, and IBM.
16. Performance optimization, regular health checks on servers, and systematic troubleshooting of problems.
17. Involved in customizing VMs Memory, hard disk, NIC and analyzing log files, resource utilization monitoring.
18. Install racked and stacked HP ProLiant Blade Servers, Dell Power Edge Servers in multiple data centers. Familiar with HP ILO, Dell Tools.
19. Create new VMware virtual machines to meet the specifications provided by the Client.
20. Involve in on-call rotation for supporting production strictly maintaining SLAs.
21. Perform necessary analysis to provide all required evidence to support the project requirements.
22. Handle day-to-day incidents and requests arising in the environment with respect to Windows within SLA.
23. Provide escalation support for Windows team.
24. Manage and complete assigned projects.
25. Must be willing to handle varying shifts.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications

1. Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream.
2. A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
2. Ability to effectively interact with upper management for presentation of new functionality and solving problems.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
5. Willingness to work on-call in emergency or priority issues.
6. Ability to take independent initiative when needed.
7. Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred.
8. Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), integration across Incident, Problem & Change (IPC) Management.
9. Knowledge about other products like BMC Control-M (CM), Cross File Transfer (CFT), Connect Direct and NetBackup is preferred.
10. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting.
11. Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams.
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Advanced troubleshooting, including the ability to delve into more complex issues, which require a deeper understanding of systems and applications.
14. Specialized knowledge in specific areas allowing them to tackle intricate problems.
15. Collaboration with L1 Support to provide guidance and share insights for ongoing issue resolution.
16. Strong problem-resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and team partnership and collaboration.
17. Escalation to L3 Support in a timely manner when challenges require an even higher level of expertise and/or experience.
18. Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders in implementation of new functionality and solving problems.
19. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
20. Capability to coordinate and execute assigned projects. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting.
