Medical Lead Position-Roshni Clinic

Fraser Health is seeking to fill a local medical lead position which provides overall professional practice leadership and direction to the members of the Department of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services (AMSUS).
Responsibilities include:
1. Provide local clinical leadership and medical oversight over the physician group at the Roshni Clinic.
2. Ensure addiction medicine services are provided in alignment with regional evidence base and evidence informed standards of care.
3. Liaise with AMSUS leadership to ensure appropriate service provision in the Roshni Clinic and integration within the system of care.
The above medical lead role will report and be accountable to the Program Medical Director and Regional Department Head of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services.
Recruitment will proceed as per the FHA Medical Staff Bylaws.
The successful candidate must:
1. Be an active medical staff member of the Fraser Health Authority Mental Health and Substance Use Program.
2. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services (AMSUS) Program Medical Director/Regional Department Head, the responsibilities of the Medical Lead will include, but are not limited to:
1. Participate in the Regional MHSU committee meetings.
2. Ensure the requirements of programs operating within the department are coordinated.
3. Maintain regular communication with operational leaders, other physician leads and staff physicians within the department.
4. Attend the MHSU regional meetings.
5. Monitor and optimize key Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services performance indicators.
6. Oversee a program of quality monitoring.
7. Promote health and wellness amongst Members.
8. Assist in investigating complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Department at the Facility under the direction of the appropriate Regional Department Head(s).
9. Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace.
10. Review with the AMSUS Program Medical Director the human resource requirements of the Regional Department practicing within the clinic.
11. Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Department.
