The Assistant Produce Manager supports and assists the Produce Manager in the efficient operation of the department. The Assistant Manager will lead, manage, coach, motivate and train staff to achieve the highest level of customer service, adherence to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, corporate policies, and Health and Safety. The Assistant Manager assists in scheduling, management of labour costs, budgets, inventory control, presentation and merchandising, and in the hiring and training of staff.

2. Demonstrate outstanding leadership, while serving as a role model
3. Assist in managing employees including: selection, orientation, training and development, performance management, succession planning and compensation
4. Communicate operational requirements/changes to department employees
5. Create a shopping experience that engages customers in a way that enhances loyalty, sales, and profit
6. Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
7. Demonstrate growth in product knowledge, including awareness of product changes, promotions, and seasonal trends
8. Order, receive, organize, rotate, merchandise and present products and stock in accordance with company standards
9. Monitor the implementation of all corporate policies, initiatives, and Standard Operating Procedures
10. Ensure OH&S, food safety, and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and maintained
11. Assist the Department Manager in achieving financial targets and maximizing sales and margins
12. Support with managing the department budget
13. Thorough understanding of all relevant company programs; attend training as required
14. Support an environment of employee engagement
15. Provide feedback for continuous improvement
16. Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per Company requirements
17. Other duties as required

4. High School Diploma
5. Minimum of 12 months of retail store experience, in applicable department
6. Exposure to reading and analyzing financial reports, and budgets
7. Available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $19.00 - $26.00. We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience, and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
