This role will be within the Scotiabank Digital Services (DS) team, working within the eConsent and Digitized Solutions organization which provides digital enabling capabilities, API & Event Enablement, leadership in Delivery, supporting an Enterprise-wide Digitization solution, performing development, design and deployment.

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, the Full-Stack Software Engineer will be working collaboratively with the eConsent and Digitized Solutions team to lead, provide technical mentorship, and be responsible for supporting the eConsent application solution which is leveraged by multiple Canadian, International and Enterprise-wide lines of business. The successful candidate will help maintain daily operations, code, and deploy releases and will partner with business teams in delivering their technical requirements. To join our team you must be proactive, creative, demonstrate teamwork and initiative, have an eagerness to learn and thrive on challenge and problem management.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

1. Work closely with Delivery and Technical Platform/Architecture teams, external Vendors, Business Partners, internal Stakeholders and Management with a goal to design and develop high quality solutions supporting enterprise architecture standards and business process improvements that support our business and/or technical strategies.
2. Provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert translating requirements into capabilities, hands-on creation of code on new development initiatives; and implementation/ deployment of compliant technical solutions and business opportunities.
3. Showcase progress in projects/initiatives/programs, holding people accountable to their commitments and ensuring we are on track for successful delivery.
4. Coach and mentor junior developers, assisting them with technical challenges and ensuring best practices are followed and Bank standards enforced.
5. Review programs written by team members, establish and execute system test procedures, develop implementation plans, create the required program and system documentation, and ensure all functionality has been delivered as required. The incumbent in collaboration with the team is also required to provide post implementation support.
6. Expertly analyze problems supporting internal team members and other development areas providing technical guidance and advice.
7. Innovate, grow knowledge of new technology and modernize the vision of our service.
8. Multitask and work within tight deadlines, which at times may result in additional work hours to meet project deliverables.
9. Participate in mandatory pager rotation.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise between Business Users, Project Teams, external Vendors and Technical Support Teams working in a geographically dispersed team.
2. Good presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to multitask.
3. Strong working knowledge of Software Development (SDLC) methodology and the ability to apply existing and emerging technologies / architectures to deliver innovative solutions.
4. Strong analytical problem identification and resolution skills.
5. 5 years of working experience with API / Microservices, Core JAVA, Spring Boot and Front-end development.
6. Exposure to Data Modelling and Data Architecture.
7. Good knowledge of MongoDB/Cloud SQL and Google Cloud application development / deployment.
8. Experience with change management and version control (Bitbucket/Git).
9. Experience in writing/creating/updating technical documents.
10. Experience in batch job/process scheduling.
