Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Operations, you will ensure all prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with provincial regulations and company policies (professional/legal requirements) in order to provide the highest quality pharmaceutical care.

What You'll Do

1. Comply with all company policies and operating procedures (regulatory/legal requirements) to enable pharmacists to deliver high-level pharmaceutical care.
2. Advise and supervise dispensary staff as required.
3. Assist in achieving financial objectives for the company.
4. Present a professional image and provide friendly customer service to foster relationship building with our clients.
5. Practice pharmacy within the College's Scope of Practice and guidelines for providing pharmaceutical care.
6. Ensure that narcotics are properly received and recorded at the dispensary. Participate in cycle counting and reconciling of inventory as necessary.
7. Ensure current and accurate patient profiles for all patients are maintained.
8. Perform technical, therapeutic, and electronic MAR checks of all medication entries, ensuring detailed documentation in paperless Kroll meets standard of practice in accordance with professional/legal requirements.
9. Provide, document, and bill all pharmaceutical interventions/opinions/services as appropriate.
10. Minimize medication incidents according to company policies and procedures.
11. In the event of a medication incident, follow protocol for reporting and resolving.
12. Participate in continuous learning activities and share relevant learnings with other staff.
13. Document patient counseling in Kroll for all prescriptions as required by provincial regulations.
14. Assist in ensuring timely and accurate completion of third-party processing, billing, re-submissions, and reporting.
15. Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
16. Comply with all federal and provincial pharmacy regulations.

What You'll Need

Required:

1. Must be licensed in Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists register and in good standing.
2. Must be available to cover on-call services after hours on a scheduled rotational basis as required.
3. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
5. Superior interpersonal skills, with a commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
6. Highly organized, takes initiative, and has excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred:

1. Minimum of two years of experience as a Pharmacist in a long-term care, retail, and/or hospital pharmacy setting.
