Job Description

Our client, a leading Over-the-counter (OTC) and Health & Beauty (HABA) Distributor, located in Markham, ON is looking to hire a Client Development Manager to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting into the President, the Client Development Manager will be responsible for working with manufacturers / clients to provide recommendations for go-to-market strategies, budgeting, promotion planning and execution, demand planning, as well as communicate market research and ongoing analysis to drive growth for their client's brands at retail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee and manage the client relationship on behalf of the company.
- Provide client with positioning recommendations to target key retailer(s) that are best suited to merchandise brands where consumers within that demographic respond favourably to the products offered by the company being represented.
- Provide client with go-to-market strategies, budgeting, promotion planning and execution, demand planning, as well as market research and ongoing analysis, and reporting to clients.
- Provide client with POS analysis, and regular reporting on the business, marketing support, and execute daily requests.
- Educate the Sales Team & Analysts on key information for successful listings at retailers.
- Generate planning, such as rationalizing SKUs where necessary as well as maximizing the success of brands at retailers with programs and promotions within client budgets. Analyze promotion tactics and strategies and make recommendations for continual improvement.
- Plan regular meetings with clients and internal teams to keep parties up to date on the state of the business.
- Work closely with clients to understand their consumer and/or retailer programs across multiple touch points including digital, in-store, pharmacy detailing, sampling to ensure those are aligned with retail execution.
- Provide proactive improvement of plans, ideas and processes that contribute to the brand's success.
- Complete special projects as requested.

EDUCATION:

- Post-secondary education.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 5 years experience in client development management/ sales planning / key account management in the Consumer Goods industry.
- Experience in OTC and HABA a strong asset.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint as well as other software (i.e. Dynamics 365 for Operations, Microsoft BI).

SKILLS:

- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Effective presentation and writing skills with the ability to convey a compelling and concise message.
- Work efficiently with minimum supervision and a high level of professional maturity.
- Demonstrate multitasking skills, excellent organizational abilities and time management.
- Creative problem solver with a strong work ethic and ability to work within a team and autonomously.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
