Permanent Discipline Contracts and Procurement Reference 170564 Job Function Procurement TRS is working with a well-established Western Canadian construction organization seeking an experienced SUPPLY CHAIN LEAD to support the delivery of large-scale infrastructure, industrial, and construction projects. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, this role will be responsible for leading procurement activities, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services necessary to support project execution. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with project and operational requirements.
- Lead competitive bid processes, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance procurement performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, purchase orders, and supply contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery schedules, and contractual compliance.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, operations, estimating, finance, and construction personnel.
- Support procurement planning, material forecasting, and project execution requirements.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supplier capabilities to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist in developing and improving procurement procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to supply chain risk management and business continuity initiatives. Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- CPP, SCMP, or similar professional designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial experience.
- Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
- Strong contract negotiation and vendor management experience.
- Proven ability to deliver cost savings and procurement value.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
