**Hours of work**: Shifts may vary. Generally, 10am-6pm. Must have availability on evenings and weekends for events.

**Start Date**: February 12th, 2023

**Wage**: Hourly. $15/hour plus 4% vacation pay

Hope Mission is a non-denominational Christian inner-city rescue mission based in Edmonton, Alberta. Hope Mission also has branches in Calgary, Red Deer, Wetaskiwin, and 2 summer camps.

Mission Statement: Hope Mission exists to serve, strengthen, and uplift men, women, children and youth through the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ.

**Job Summary**:
As an outreach worker you will assist with planning and leading our afterschool programs for children and youth in Red Deer. You will also support with food preparation, special events, our food hamper program, cleaning, and a variety of other tasks to serve, strengthen, and uplift children and families.

**Major Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist with planning and preparation tasks for afterschool programs for kids in Red Deer
- Lead games, crafts, lessons, and devotions for children and youth
- Assist with meal preparation
- Assist with food hamper building and deliveries
- Assist with set up and cleaning for events and programs
- Responsible for set up and clean-up of program space
- Other related tasks and duties as required

**Minimum Qualifications & Skills**:

- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, run and play active sports and games with youth
- Excellent communicator
- Experience working with children and youth
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Food Safety Certificate an asset
- Standard First Aid certification not required but an asset

**Other Requirements**:

- Being a Christian organization we require our employees to be in agreement and sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
- Able to provide Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check
- Must be able to provide 2-3 references
- As we partner with schools we require new hires to provide proof of their covid-19 vaccination.
- Adherence to Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures
