**Career Opportunity**:

- Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for inspecting and/or testing safety critical components including but not limited toitems made to TTC drawings purchased from external suppliers and internally re-built items, to confirm that those items meet or exceed TTC engineering specifications. Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the adequacy of tests and consistency in the inspection process. Develops and maintains overall administrative functions and interfaces closely with the Materials Management Departmen, relevant internal Engineering sections and other departments as needed.**What Will You Be Doing?**:

- Ensure all identified safety critical components meet or exceed TTC engineering specifications:
- Assists in the identification of safety critical components and any item made to TTC drawings
- Develops and maintains safety critical component inventory and any item made to TTC drawings which have been approved for QC inspection
- Ensures all components are quarantined until inspected
- Keeps the Inventory Analysts and the Manager/Manager’s delegate apprised of any items that do not conform to specifications; issue formal NCR (non conformance report) or any other documentation or communication to support the Materials Management process and attach in ERP system for further workflow where applicable
- Ensure the adequacy of tests and consistency in the inspection process:
- Develops standard operating procedures (SOP) for all items (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air conditioning, electrical, etc.) to be inspected, to ensure adequate and consistent inspection techniques
- Reviews technical drawings, both hard copies and CADD, and extracts the necessary data for developing the SOPs and the inspection process in coordination with respective internal engineering function
- Controls, maintains and calibrates all precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy of the inspection process and attend and maintain all assigned training to get fully conversant with those
- Maintain an effective working relationship with TTC engineering sections and Materials Management in the course of performing quality control inspections:
- Liaises with all internal engineering sections, various Operations areas, Procurement and Category Management Department, Inventory Management and Warehouse & Distribution Management to ensure the process is conducted thoroughly and quickly
- Analyzes test results and communicates those results to the appropriate staff
- Releases components and prioritizes the function to ensure end users receive the material without time loss due to shortage of those components
- Produce reports in addition to registering actual inspection results in system
- Assist in discussions with vendors on their objections/suggestions/inputs with respect to QC inspected parts and issues
- Work with vendor team for inspections arranged with them (where agreed) for their inspection on TTC premises
- 6S audit preparedness for their area (in side the QC lab and adjacent work areas such as the warehouse floor)
- Work with other groups (including Accounts Payables, Warehouse & Distribution team etc. ) to align priorities and KPI targets for all inspected parts

**What Qualifications Do You Bring?**:

- College diploma or University degree in a related discipline combined with relevant work experience.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering (i.e: Engineering Technology or Technician) principles and methods of Quality Control, its process and function.
- Sound knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments and the ability to measure components to within 0.0005” which would normally be acquired through formal apprenticeship in tool and die making / machinist
