Position Summary
The Operating Room is currently seeking a Casual Operating Room Assistant to join their team.

Department/Unit/Program Description
The Operating Room performs elective and emergency surgery on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and support staff work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient.
Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Must be physically fit as heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, moving and bending required
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with patients, family members and all levels of staff
- Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications
- Current experience in reprocessing
- Housekeeping experience

Hours of Work
Rotation of 8 hour shifts, days and evenings, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
