**Athletics Director**

The Arbutus Club has been a landmark in Vancouver since 1964. Today, we are a modern recreation complex with first class food and beverage services. We are currently looking for an Athletics Director to join the Senior Management team. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, management, and operation of all athletic programs and facilities. This role requires strong business acumen, exceptional leadership, and outstanding communication skills to ensure the long-term success of the athletics department. The Athletics Director must demonstrate strong administrative skills and prioritize delivering top-tier service to the members, staff, and contractors.

This role oversees various Athletics departments, including Tennis, Hockey, Figure Skating, Personal Training, Wellness, Aquatics, Pickleball, Squash, Badminton, Volleyball and Basketball.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- The Athletics Director is responsible for strategic planning, staffing, and ensuring compliance with membership policies.
- The Athletics Director is accountable for the athletics department's budget, including resource allocation, revenue generation (reviewing the annual and capital budget).
- The Athletics Director role requires close collaboration with staff, coaches, communications teams, and administrative staff to drive key initiatives and ensure the satisfaction and professional growth of all employees and contractors.
- The Athletics Director ensures smooth operations and effectively addresses concerns and complaints from members and staff.
- The Athletics Director takes pride in maintaining the facilities to the high standards of the Arbutus Club. This includes regularly touring the facility to ensure cleanliness, proactively identifying and addressing repair or replacement needs, and ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
- The Athletics Director will be in constant collaboration with the Recreation and Arts Director for all programming and services.
- The Athletics Director mustensure that both employee payroll and the entire department's payroll are processed on time, even during statutory holidays, in accordance with the regular schedule.
- The Athletics Director attends all departmental committee meetings: Recreation Services Committee, Minor Hockey Committee, Figure Skating Committee, Tennis Committee, Pickleball Committee, Squash Committee and any other committee as deemed necessary by the CEO.
- The Athletics Director will be the point of contact for the entire Athletics and Recreation Department when the Recreation and Arts Director is not available.

**Requirements & Qualifications**
- Exceptional member and staff service skills.
- 5 years experience in a senior management position in a recreational setting.
- A degree in Recreation Management, Kinesiology preferred or equivalent.
- Certifications/Degrees in Business Management, Human Resources/Customer Service
- The ability to work in an everchanging dynamic environment
- Strong administrative and communication skills are essential.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (experience with JONAS is an asset).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
