Harvard Developments has an immediate opening for a Building Operator to join its retail team to look after the daily operations and provide an exceptional customer experience within its Winnipeg retail portfolio. As a crucial member of a highly engaged team, the Building Operator will balance and prioritize daily building operations including preventative and corrective maintenance with tenant requests while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The company oversees 9 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial properties throughout Western Canada, with offices in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, and Edmonton.

**As a successful Building Operator, you will be responsible to**:

- Effectively maintain and ensure all equipment and systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and fire alarm) are operated in a safe and efficient manner;
- Conduct regular building envelope, roof, parking lot, and site inspections of properties for damage and perform or arrange repairs as necessary;
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, snow removal, cleaning, etc. while gathering competitive quotes and issuing purchase orders;
- Attend to the cleanliness and orderliness of the outdoor public areas surrounding the property;
- Assist the management team achieve its customer, financial, and organizational objectives;
- Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance or training to coworkers, however there is no formal supervisory responsibilities in this position;
- Participate in required on-call rotation for service in the evening and on weekends;
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record necessary to operate any fleet vehicles.

- Good verbal & basic written communications skill;
- Strong interpersonal & team building skills;
- Intermediate computer literacy & experience using digital devices;
- A mechanical inclination with practiced motor skills;
- Experience in purchasing goods and services; and managing a budget; and
- A working knowledge of workplace safety practices and requirements.
