WSP E&I has a new opportunity for a Junior Geochemist to join our Mining, Geo-Environment & Engineering group on a full-time basis based in Vancouver.

**A day in the life**:

- Providing support for geochemical projects, specifically in mining environments
- Conducting geochemical characterization studies of mine wastes (ore, waste rock, gases, and water), water treatment, and other environmental investigations
- Planning, performing, and coordination of field sampling and laboratory testing activities
- Coordinating and liaising with laboratories on geochemical and mineralogical analyses
- Collection, management, and analysis of geochemical data
- Data interpretation and conceptual model development
- Report preparation including figures, tables, and presentations
- Demonstrating a “Safety-First” focus
- Maintaining a high standard of behavior to uphold WSP’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values
- You will always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites and take WSP's Life-Saving rules to heart

**What you'll bring to WSP...**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geochemistry, Geoscience, Environmental Science, Mining engineering or related discipline
- Strong understanding of inorganic, aquatic chemistry
- Academic knowledge of surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, and hydrogeology
- Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong relational skills within the team environment and with clients are essential
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Willing to travel domestically (~25% of the time), occasionally in remote locations, varying environments and inclement weather, sometimes with limited communications and logístical support
- Applied work experience in groundwater/sur
