_NOTE: _**MUST HAVE BARISTA EXPERIENCE.** We will test your skills to froth milk for lattes & cappuccinos during the interview.

Take Five Cafe at Port Coquitlam is hiring an engaging and courteous barista ready to provide excellent customer service & great coffee.

The Barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a **clean and well-stocked** workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.

**Note**: Might require some days to work on our Port Coquitlam location as well.

We are a small community cafe dedicated to providing customers with **prompt and excellent **service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. You should be able to create a rapport with our customers and make their experience memorable.

**Barista Responsibilities**:

- Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
- Preparing foods, such as panini or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
- Packaging food and beverages for sale.
- Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items and educating customers about brewing methods.
- Cleaning and restocking work+dining areas+washrooms+windows, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils. Mopping floor & cleaning outside patio.
- Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
- Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
- Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
- Working in as part of a fun, high-energy team.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations, quality controls and COVID-19 protocols.

**Barista Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; Food Safe certificate
- Experience in food & beverage preparation and customer service is a must
- Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills.
- Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods; carry stock and clean the work area
- Availability to work around peak hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- A polite, engaging personality.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $17.40 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
