The Consumer Taxation Audit Branch (CTAB) is a dynamic force in tax compliance across the province of British Columbia. The Mississauga audit team is one of 11 audit teams located across BC and in Ontario. CTAB conducts audits under four different acts for the province’s consumption tax systems, promoting a fair and equitable business environment. **The Role**
As an Audit Team Leader at the Consumer Taxation Audit Branch (CTAB), you will be responsible for supervising an audit team, and for the planning and conducting of audits on large and/or complex businesses operating in British Columbia. In-depth training will support you in supervising your team, establishing tax liability, proposing audit assessments, finalizing agreements with taxpayers on proposed assessments, and promoting future compliance. Your work will involve identifying and collecting unpaid provincial revenue, which supports programs for education, health care, social services, and other public service needs of British Columbians.
**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Professional accounting designation CPA - CA, CGA, CMA, issued by a Canadian Accounting Association.
**Note**: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.
- Minimum of 5 years audit and/or accounting experience.
- Minimum of 5 years audit experience in a consumption taxes environment.
- Minimum of 5 years experience supervising audit staff including providing performance feedback and employee development guidance and opportunities in a consumption taxes audit environment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5, BC driver’s license or equivalent (Ontario Class G), with no learner’s restrictions.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Experience working with the BCGEU Collective Agreement.
- Supervisory practice in a unionized environment.
