**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Resource Centre Worker will support the organization's efforts towards providing support, programming, and resources to members of our community. The RCW will assist in the administration of the Resource Centre.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborate, assist and work alongside other staff to ensure effective delivery of resource centre programming and services
- Assist participants during drop-in; printing, fax, phone, computers, general documents
- Replenish supplies for service window as needed; prepare snacks
- Keep track of inventory, supplies and up-to-date data for reporting
- Provide resources and referrals to drop-in participants
- Keep resource materials stocked and update as needed
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for visitors; sweep/mop floors, wipe down tables, chairs, computers and desks, take trash and recycling out at the end of each day
- Assist in other programming areas, community BBQ’s, summer events and other organized community events; assist in other community activities such as festivals and the AGM
- Attend scheduled staff meetings including check-in/follow-up meetings with the Resource Centre Coordinator
- Ensure all relevant health and safety standards are met including the safety of volunteers, and members of the public
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to the Resource Centre Coordinator; maintain accurate time sheets
- Notify Resource Centre Coordinator of incidents and prepare incident reports
- Review organization and program policies and procedures, job responsibilities and expectations; sign acknowledgement form upon review
- Adhere to the organizations respect policy and maintain a respectable and friendly work environment
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School diploma
- Experience working in a community setting
- Empathy and experience with supporting and working with older, disabled people or historically marginalized populations, children, and families
- Positive attitude, enjoys taking initiative, works well independently and in a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact with staff and the general public
- Pro-Active leader with the ability to take initiative, work independently, problem solve, and work collaboratively with staff and others
- Understanding and appreciation of inner-city communities
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of the Daniel McIntyre / St. Matthews neighbourhoods is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract; access to a vehicle is an asset
- Current Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or with the authorization to work in Canada for the duration of the contract

**SCOPE/HOURS**:
The Resource Centre Worker will report directly to the Resource Centre Coordinator. The RCW is expected to work in a full-time capacity of 30 - 40 hours per week, determined by the program’s operational requirements. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Wages and the duration of the term will be specified in the Offer and Terms of Employment letter.
