Title: Landscape Lead Hand

Reports to: Landscape Working Foreman

Community Builders is Simcoe County & Greater Sudbury's leading Not-for-Profit Construction based Social Enterprise. We provide training, employment, and affordable housing to meet the growing needs of our community’s most vulnerable and at risk populations.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Grass Cutter & Landscaper. As a key member of our landscaping crew, you will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of our clients' outdoor spaces through expert grass cutting and landscaping techniques.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform regular grass cutting and edging to ensure lawns are neatly manicured and maintained to high standards.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and edgers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assess lawn conditions and identify areas requiring additional care or treatment
- Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, mulching, and pruning, to enhance the overall appearance of outdoor spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including properly disposing of yard waste and debris.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing job duties to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns or inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Completing daily time cards accurately and on time
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of grass cutting techniques, equipment operation, and basic landscaping principles.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and bending.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing outdoor spaces.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures in the landscaping industry.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve common goals

**Working Conditions**
- Work in all weather conditions outdoors
- Daily routine will often vary
- Some computer work may be required
- Lifting and moving heavy materials and equipment over 50lbs may be required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Monday to Thursday - 40 hour weeks - Some hours outside this schedule may be required
- Must have steel toed shoes, hard hat and a smart phone

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4-5 months

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- No weekends

**Experience**:

- Landscape maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
