Pediatric Overnight Caregiver

Our Family is currently looking for a female over night caregiver casual position for our 8 - year
- old daughter.

My daughter has a tracheostomy, on a ventilator, is G-tube fed, nonverbal, is wheelchair dependent and a brain cancer warrior. Location is in St. Albert. These are AWAKE overnight shifts starting at 10pm and ending at 8am. Medical background is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:

- Experience with medically complex kids
- Punctuality
- English Fluency
- Medical Awareness and willingness to learn
- Critical Thinking in Emergencies
- Strong needs assessment and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand non-verbal communication and behaviours
- Willing and able to keep information about clients confidential
- Ability to use tact and judgment in dealing with difficult situations

Duties include:

- Tracheostomy suctioning
- G-tube flushes
- Use of Oxygen Tank & Concentrator
- Administer Nebulizer medication
- Administer medication via G-tube
- Medical supply cleaning & inventory
- Formula Preparation
- Personal Hygiene - dressing, teeth brushing, face washing, etc.
- Maintain detailed records of care provided

Other required qualifications:

- current First Aid/CPR
- valid driver's license
- reliable vehicle
- valid vehicle insurance
- experience and interest in working with children
- criminal record check and vulnerable persons checks are all mandatory
- Responsible to provide proof of active registration as Health Care Aid and maintain registration throughout the duration of employment

Hourly rate depending on experience.

Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
