Winter Break Sports Camp Coach

Under the leadership of the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director and Lead Programmer assist with the supervision and facilitation of the day to day sports/activities of the children.

**Sports Winter Camp Details**

The sports winter camp is a sports camp for boys and girls ages 4-13. It will be taking place at Woodbridge Sports Dome (7501 Martin Grove Rd). The camp will run for 2 weeks (December 27-29 & January 2-5) between the hours of 8:00AM - 6:00PM, Monday - Friday.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead sport camp activities and follow the program outline.
- Develop and run programming for camper groups.
- Set a positive example for other staff and campers.
- Create a safe and structured environment for children to learn and to explore throughout the day
- Assist children in developing skill in sports activities.
- Work effectively within an integrated setting by meeting the needs of all campers
- Deal effectively with Camp Director, peers, participants and the public
- Accompany children to various outings in the community & ensure that they are safe and accounted for at all times
- Show children how to respect themselves, their peers and others in the community
- Carry out all duties that provide quality customer service.
- Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director

**Requirements**:

- At least of 18 years old at the start of employment
- legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred), a full-time student during the previous academic year and intending to return to school full-time in the following academic year.
- CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate preferred
- Provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference check and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), all winter - 2 Weeks.
- Previous experience working with children and youth in sport, recreational or community setting is an asset
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, organizational & time management skills

**Required education**
- High school or equivalent
- Enrollment in, and or completion of related post-secondary study (physical education, concurrent education, child and youth, recreation and leisure studies, kinesiology, applied health sciences, etc...).
