**What you’ll do**
The purpose of the Customer Analytical Center of Excellence of Canadian Tire Bank is to build familiarity with our credit card customers to strengthen the customer relationship with Canadian Tire Corporation. Charged with building and executing statistical models that help predict customer behavior, the Modeling and Analytics department provides actionable customer intelligence to maximize our credit card portfolio profitability. Analytics is fundamental to our business at Canadian Tire Bank and the Modeling and Analytics team has successfully used multiple sources of data to build high performance and leading-edge models that drive business results.
- Develop predictive models that will form the basis for information driven strategies in Credit Risk and Marketing
- Perform optimization analysis and build supporting component predictions
- Create customer segmentation schemes that will provide our analytic teams with insights into our customers
- Monitor effectiveness of all statistical models and recommend appropriate course of action
- Perform full cycle model design and development from target definition through to implementation and performance measurement
- Deliver effective communications of key design elements and development results
**What you bring**
- University degree in a quantitative discipline, Mathematics or Statistics preferred
- Demonstrated superior analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
- Good working knowledge of statistical techniques and predictive modeling
- Programming experience, preferably with data extraction/mining tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python)
- Ability to accurately and consistently deal with granular and detailed data
- Proven ability to translate business needs into statistically sound solutions
- Capable of clearly communicating analytical results to business stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience performing statistical analysis or building predictive models from large, complex data sets
- Previous experience in credit cards/unsecured lending, credit scoring or customer segmentation
- Familiarity with statistical modeling or data mining software
