**Material Handler**

**Position Overview**:
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within a warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role involves operating various types of equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to load, unload, and transport materials. The Material Handler ensures that materials are properly stored, tracked, and delivered to the appropriate departments or production lines in a timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Material Handling and Transportation**:
Load and unload materials from trucks or containers.

Transport materials to designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.

Ensure materials are securely and safely transported and stored.

**Inventory Management**:
Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.

Record and maintain accurate inventory counts.

Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.

**Storage and Organization**:
Properly label and store materials in designated locations.

Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Optimize storage space and ensure easy accessibility of materials.

**Order Fulfillment**:
Pick and prepare materials for delivery to production lines or shipping.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness in fulfilling orders.

**Equipment Operation and Maintenance**:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.

Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.

**Safety and Compliance**:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.

Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

**Skills and Abilities**:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).

**Technical Skills**:
Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

Basic computer skills for inventory management systems.

**Working Conditions**:
**Environment**:
Warehouse or manufacturing setting with varying temperatures.

**Physical Demands**:
Lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Operation of material handling equipment for long durations.
