**Excavator Operator - Reclamation**

Backwoods is hiring for Operators with reclamation experience. Positions will be located in and around the province of Alberta.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Earth moving and grading, stripping overburden, stacking, and stockpiling.
- Lease building, reclamation, road building, pad building and culvert installation.
- Willing to help ground personnel when required.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, meticulously examining tires, fluids, lights and brakes to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
- Champion our safety culture by adhering to Backwoods’ Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
- Showcase your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience as an Excavator Operator in heavy civil earthworks, construction, mining or oilfield maintenance services industry.
- Proven experience with technical specifications and grade plans, building roads, oilfield leases and pads is preferred.
- Proven experience stripping overburden, stacking, stockpiling and reclamation Experience working on all types of ground conditions, including soft ground.
- Ability to finish or trim would be an asset.
- Proven experience with technical specifications and grade plans, building roads, oilfield leases and pads is preferred.
- Proven experience stripping overburden, ripping, placing topsoil and reclamation activities.
- Proven experience working on ice road construction.
- Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience on an excavator. Able to operate an Excavator of various sizes - 336 excavators and/ or 470 excavators in a safe and efficient manner.
- Able to shovel out equipment tracks
- Provide your own steel toed 6" lace up boots (CSA Approved)
- Able to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
- Alcohol, Drug and fit to work testing is a pre-employment requirement.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
