**Position: Building Cleaner (Nights/Weekends)**

**Location**: 1 Jim Flaherty Street., Whitby, ON

**Assignment**: Hourly, weekends and weeknights (shifts end 3:00AM)

**Pay Rate**: $16.00 per hour, plus $1.50 per hour premium for night shifts. We also offer access to our superb sport, fitness, and recreational facilities.

**The Position**:
Reporting to the _Senior_ _Manager, Facilities_, the _Building Cleaner_ maintains a healthy and safe environment at Abilities Centre through outstanding cleanliness.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Maintain. **Maintain a physical presence throughout the facility ensuring that areas are kept clean, fully stocked, and free of debris. Maintain the complex in a manner which reduces the complex's liability for Slip & Fall Hazards. Ensure that all housekeeping equipment is cleaned, maintained, and is functioning correctly and to report any malfunctions to the _Senior Manager, Facilities, _or designate, immediately.
- **Clean. **Sweep, mop, scrub, remove debris dirt and any refuse, empty waste containers, wash windows, interior/exterior walls, clean and disinfect washroom and fixtures. Clean carpets, rugs, mats, and upholstered furniture. Scrub, mop, and wax floors as required or as scheduled by the _Senior Manager, Facilities, _or designate.
- **Event Support.** Perform event cleaning, setup and take down of all associated furniture and fixtures.
- **Professionalism. **Comply with all company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures at all times. Perform all duties in accordance with the highest professional standards at all times. Perform other duties as required by the _Senior Manager, Facilities, _or designate.

**What You’ll Bring**:

- **The energy. **This job is in a large building and includes movement such as bending, stooping, crawling, pushing, and lifting/moving equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- **The knowledge.** Knowledge of W.H.M.I.S. Experience with auto scrubbers/ floor cleaning machines is an asset. Previous cleaning experience an asset.
- **The personality. **Dedicated to optimal customer service. Able to work in a team environment and independently. Self-motivated.
- **The availability. Must be available to work weekend and weeknight shifts.**
- **The administrative requirements.** You have a **current, clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector **from the last 3 years.First Aid and CPR ‘C’ / AED certification is an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-30 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.50 per hour
