**Dance Teacher**:
Bialik seeks a talented and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our team in September 2023. The Dance Teacher will contribute to our school plays and other dance performances. This is a part-time contract position that offers time flexibility and will be located at our Viewmount Branch.

**The Role**:
Dance is part of our Jewish Studies program. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with students in the elementary grades, showcasing your dance expertise and inspiring young performers as they work towards their class plays and other community dance performances.

**Responsibilities**:

- Choreograph and teach dance routines to students for class plays and performances.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and our music department to ensure seamless integration of dance routines within the overall production.
- Conduct rehearsals and provide constructive feedback to students, helping them improve their dance technique and performance skills.
- Assist in costume selection and make recommendations on suitable attire for dance performances.
- Attend dress rehearsals and performances to provide guidance and support to students during their live shows.
- Prepare students to take part in the Rikudiyah dance festival and other dance opportunities in the community.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff regarding dance-related matters.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Dance experience in various styles
- Proven teaching experience in dance, preferably with children and teenagers
- Strong choreography skills and the ability to adapt routines to suit different skill levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff members
- Flexible schedule to accommodate rehearsals and performances
- Ability to motivate and inspire students, nurturing their passion for dance and encouraging their artistic growth
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young dancers
- Possession of any relevant certifications or qualifications in dance instruction is a plus

The hours for this contract position are flexible. Throughout the year, the Dance Teacher will be required to work approximately 8 hours per class play (for approximately 30 classes), and 1-2 hours per week for Rikudiyah and other dance performances. The Dance Teacher will invoice the school and the exact schedule will depend on the school’s event calendar.

A police clearance certificate is required.
