Halifax, Canada Techno Hard Surfaces Ltd Full time

Techno Hard Surfaces Limited is an industry leading concrete flatwork company specializing in large commercial and industry concrete work. As a member of our team with the position of concrete labourer, you will be responsible for contributing to a safety minded culture by watching for and identifying hazards as they present themselves. Your other responsibilities include but are not limited to operating and maintaining various tools and equipment, loading and unloading heavy tools and materials, pushing and pulling dense concrete, and following directions from supervisors and other skilled finishers. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, reliable and be a hard worker.

Concrete Labourer Responsibilities:

- Identify hazards related to your tasks and participate in discussion to rectify, mitigate or eliminate these hazards.
- Follow and understand company policies and procedures.
- Pour spread and level concrete to grade specifications using concrete hoses, wheel barrows, rakes, shovels, straight edges, laser levels, vibratory screeds and other tools and equipment.
- Operate and care for construction tools and equipment
- Help foremen, finishers, and other skilled labour when necessary
- Prep construction areas by cleaning obstacles and hazards
- Load or unload construction tools and materials.
- Follow instructions from supervisors
- Assist craft workers
- Be ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
- Perform site clean-up
- Clean tools and equipment, load into vehicles and ensure nothing gets left behind

Concrete Labourer Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous tasks such as push, pull, carry and lift.
- Ability to work in all weather
- Workers must be punctual and reliable
- Must have experience as a general labourer in the construction industry

General Workplace Conditions and demands:
Required to adjust to many different working conditions including standing for long periods of times, climbing stairs and ladders, heavy lifting, confined spaces, loud noises and repetitive movements.

External Factors/Health and Safety:
Seasonal weather is a factor in the completion of the duties. Safety hazards can be but not limited to loud noise, seasonal temperature extremes, precipitation, heavy lifting, exposure to chemicals and electrical equipment.

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
