**Employment Access Coach - Newcomer Women**

**(Full-time Contract until January 31, 2025)**

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

We are** **searching for a full-time Employment Access Coach - Newcomer Women to provide support to vulnerable newcomer women through facilitation of soft skills and workplace communications training, individualized employment and career coaching and hands-on work placements to transition into the Canadian Labour Market.

- What you will be doing:
- Conduct client assessments and develop individual employment plans based on agreed upon goals
- Provide one-on-one short-term employment counselling, pre-employment supports, referrals and ongoing support and follow up with clients to address identified barriers in accessing the Canadian labour market
- Develop and facilitate instructional training modules to build ‘soft skills’ including communication, Canadian workplace culture, cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution, office etiquette and grooming
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to coordinate job shadowing and “hands-on” work placements to provide newcomer women with exposure to Canadian workplace culture, gain experience and foster networking opportunities
- Monitor practical learning for each client in a various office setting
- Research and create resources binder with a comprehensive employment road map to assist newcomer women to navigate the Canadian labour market
- Plan and organize quarterly graduation/networking/ be offered to newcomer women to enhance their workplace communications skills, expand their professional network, build their confidence and foster the development of an alumni network
- Ensure all client and program files are complete and updated
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical, narrative, and program progress reports
- Develop and execute outreach plans on monthly basis to promote the program and recruit participants
- Provide recommendations for improvement, development and/or expansion of the program to ensure proactive response to clients’ changing needs

**What are we looking for?**
- Community college diploma in Career Counselling, Social Sciences, Humanities, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in employment assessment, coaching and group facilitation
- Experience in working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Demonstrated knowledge of current Canadian labour market and employment trends
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant internal and external resources
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated willingness to work in a flexible manner in order to meet shifting priorities
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes occasional evening and weekend hours
- Excellent oral and written English skills are required
- Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car is an asset

**Location**:Brampton, ON

**Compensation**:$28.52 to $30.08 based on experience

**Hours of work**: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required
