**Position Summary**

The **Vice President of Student Affairs** at Native Education College (NEC) oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that support the holistic well-being and academic success of students. They play a key role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that honors Indigenous culture and values while promoting educational attainment and personal growth.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Develop and implement wrap-around supports that embody the Longhouse Values.

Validate and acknowledge the Indigenous learners' lived experiences of genocide and the intergenerational impacts by weaving these truths into the wrap-around supports.

Develop and implement student support programs and services that promote authentic cultural identity, healing, academic success, personal development, and confidence building.

Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and retention of students, with a focus on increasing Indigenous student enrollment and persistence.

Provide leadership and direction to staff in student affairs departments, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.

Collaborate with academic departments to integrate support services into the student experience and promote a seamless transition from enrollment to graduation.

Address issues related to safety and support the Indigenous learners' physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Monitor student satisfaction and engagement through surveys, focus groups, and other assessment methods, and implement initiatives to enhance the student experience.

Represent the college in community partnerships and initiatives related to student affairs and Indigenous education.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
A Master’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Counselling, Higher Education Administration, or a related field is required. A Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) is preferred.

At least 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs or related areas within higher education, with a focus on serving diverse student populations.

Demonstrated leadership experience in managing student affairs programs and services, preferably within an Indigenous education or culturally diverse setting.

Experience in supervising staff, budget management, strategic planning, and policy development related to student affairs.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in student affairs, including student conduct, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Experience in crisis management, student advocacy, and fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment.

**Terms**:
