The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**Accessing Opportunities at Côté Gold**

**SURVEYOR**

The **Surveyor** provides safe and cost-effective survey services (by way of design), plans, and measurement data that communicate critical mining instructions to operators and work front advancement updates to mine planning engineers.

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Prioritize, schedule, and plan assigned survey jobs.
- Ensure pit and bench surveying of ore stockpiles and rock dumps.
- Provide accurate line and grade to construction and mining crews in a timely manner.
- Plan for blast drill hole positions, digging lines, ramp gradients and berm designs.
- Provide surveys and CMS surveys to the planning group and operations in a timely manner.
- Ensure mine plans are executed to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all surveying equipment required for the job is loaded onto the survey truck, and that it is all in a serviceable condition.

Area 2:
Provide survey marks to allow development of mine to correct dimensions and grade.
- Efficiently and effectively carry out the daily surveying tasks:

- Instrument setups.
- Grade line mark-ups.
- Pick-ups.
- Laser installing.
- Cable & ring mark-ups.
- Diamond drill setups.

Area 3:
Maintain and distribute survey records and plans, and provide information to the management team regarding mine development and production.
- Assist Supervisor to calculate and check month end production figures.
- Ensure that all appropriate reporting, forms, data, etc are accurately compiled and made available.
- Update emergency response plans, showing refuge chambers and escape ways and traffic management plans for the site.
- Update working plans for the mine.
- Performs other related functions as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- College diploma in surveying, mining technician, or other related field.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- 3-5 years of related experience.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Working knowledge of computer programs including Excel, Autocad, Promine etc.
- Experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) would be considered an asset.
- At least 1 year of working experience using Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total station and Trimble Access or equivalent would be preferred.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
