**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
The Facilities Tradesperson maintains and repairs grounds and buildings and other TRCA assets, performing regular facility inspections to ensure a safe, clean and functional environment.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provides general and preventative maintenance of TRCA facilities and assets to ensure continuous operations and minimizing customer/client impact.
- Performs regularly scheduled maintenance activities, where required prioritizes tasks with Supervisor or Site Manager
- Performs preventative maintenance and completes repairs as needed
- Completes minor repairs to infrastructure and equipment, to both inside and outside equipment, inspecting, cleaning and servicing small engine equipment and installing protective fittings and coverings in areas susceptible to seasonal/weather-related damage
- Ensures best practices are followed in the removal and disposal of damaged or defunct systems, equipment and other materials
- Coordinates and leads site visits with contractors/consultants for specialized maintenance work and routine contract services
- Carries out all work in a safe manner, using all required PPE, health & safety equipment and adhering to best practices and standard operating procedures
- Identifies, manages and reports hazardous site conditions; ensures that staff and volunteers do not come into contact with unsafe areas, materials or equipment
- Performs regular inspections, maintaining emergency systems and equipment
- Leads contract professionals through annual and semi-annual inspections; conducts testing of all onsite emergency systems and equipment

**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- Completion of college diploma
- Member of the Ontario College of Trades (Tradesperson Class at minimum)
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license
- Drinking Water Operators Certification

Experience
- 2+ years of experience related to trades, building maintenance, ground maintenance or a related field

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise communication in both non-emergency and emergency situations
- Demonstrates responsive to internal and external customer requests and needs
- Ability to use critical thinking to evaluate problems, gather information, understand causes, and identify best possible solutions
- General knowledge and ability in one or more of the following areas: construction, general carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, and/or automotive repair
- Ability to safely handle and operate power tools, and small and large machinery (e.g., mowers, grass trimmers), as well as work vehicles, such as snowploughs, tractors, etc.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and execute maintenance projects and repairs
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint)
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues
