Manager of Firstconnect- Maternity Leave Contract

Job Overview:
You will oversee FirstConnect
- Exploring Housing Options and Community Connections services and system coordination in the Region of Waterloo.
**Responsibilities**:
- Experience working with single adults 18+ experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- Experience with research, evaluation, data tracking and reporting
- Demonstrated program quality assurance skills,
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution and mediation skills within a solution-focused framework,
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and support a team,
- Monitor teams progress and provide ongoing support,
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral,
- Experience representing communities at planning tables,
- Knowledge of homelessness and affordable housing issues within the community and strategies to end homelessness,
- Weekday position with flexibility for on-call consultations evenings and weekends
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Planning and Administration or related field
- 3-5 years’ management experience, including experience in staffing and scheduling a 24-hour service
- Experience in system planning and coordination with emphasis on homelessness prevention and shelter diversion
- Experience with strategy formation and implementation, public education and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated ability to establish community partnerships
- Knowledge of social service partners in the Region of Waterloo
- Focus on innovation, research and evaluation and strong attention to detail
- Results oriented in supporting the FirstConnect team with homelessness prevention and shelter diversion strategies
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
