**Job Description**:
We are currently looking for someone to teach a third year course on Cloud Computing

Required Qualifications:

- Education: Minimum Master’s required in bioinformatics, computer science or a related discipline, topic in bioinformatics preferred.
- Teaching Experience: Post-secondary preferred.
- Professional Experience: 2 years directly related industry experience preferred within the last 5 years.
- Other: Preferred Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud along with programming languages such as Python, Java. Working knowledge of data related technologies is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and deliver instructional materials using up to date content and evidence based pedagogical principles.
- Teach computer science at all levels within the bioinformatics program, including foundational courses
- Ensure effective use of the available class time and maintain appropriate office hours
- Maintain collegial working relationships
- Be a positive and active contributor to the development and implementation of the Bioinformatics program, the Faculty of Science, and the College.

Length of appointment: 4 months, with one month preparation time. There is a possibility for renewal upon positive evaluation.

Please note that the position workload will be based on the departmental budget and operational needs.

$45.88 - $142.49

Salary Range Placement: Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
