**Our expectations**
The Team Member, Return to Vendor provides a single contact point for special-order purchase. The incumbent sources product and coordinates with the customer to ensure accuracy in terms of product, price, and delivery. The Team Member also ensures inventory reports are kept accurate by making the appropriate computer adjustments for returned products and facilitates the processing of defective and/or returned products.
**Your role**
- Review special orders for completeness and accuracy
- Advise customer when material has been received and arrange time for pickup or delivery
- Ensure product is properly identified and tagged in the special order storage and in the SODA/Dispatch system
- Investigate product damage or defect complaints, including assessing responsibility and negotiating with suppliers for replacement or credit
- Ensure special order storage areas are properly maintained and constructed to minimize product damage
- With approval from their manager, take appropriate action to clear dated merchandise
- Key in inventory adjustments for the product that is being returned to the vendor and/or back into stock
- Contact vendors to request replacement parts, inspect merchandise that is defective, and review warranty issues
- Store products to be repaired or picked up
- Inform vendors of deadlines and cull all past due products
- Track reasons for returns and inform Operations Manager of chronic problems
- Provide assistance to the receiver
- Organize the storage area, document receipt of goods, and tag special orders
- Perform other job-related duties as required
**The qualifications we are looking for**
- Understanding of the computerized inventory system
- Ability to look up products on the computer and make the required RTV or special orders
- Detail and solution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency in responding to problems
- Good organizational and housekeeping skills with the ability to keep the RTV and special order area orderly
- Adhere to vendor RTV policies
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent knowledge of special order products and ordering procedures
- Very good interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
