**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Conduct research and analysis to support programs, policies and business processes
- Undertake research of issues related to health workforce planning and participate in the development of policy/ program recommendations
- Monitor performance of programs, contracts and services to ensure targets are met
- Review program changes to assess impact and recommend opportunities for process improvement.
- Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

**How do I qualify?**:
**Policy and Program Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of policy and program development principles, decision-making processes and techniques to review new or changed policies and make recommendations
- You have knowledge of operational policy development principles, and government decision-making processes, for the analysis and preparation of new or revised operational policy and program designs
- You have knowledge of legislation, critical issues impacting the sector and models of program delivery to analyze performance of programs

**Research and Analysis Skills**:

- You have skills in research and statistical techniques to review and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
- You can analyze multiple sources of data and make recommendations considering options, costs and performance criteria
- You can undertake research relating to non-compliance and risk
- You can research and synthesize information from a variety of sources, such as labour market studies, to plan for workforce needs.
- You can monitor and review programs, contracts and budget data

**Interpersonal and Communication Skills**:

- You have presentation skills to present research finding to senior staff
- You have advisory and consultation skills to develop working relationships and provide advice to other staff on policy and programs
- You have conflict resolution skills to work collaboratively with working groups on program solutions
- You have written communication skills to draft a variety of materials such as program/ policy papers, reports, correspondence

**Other Essential Skills**:

- You possess methodologies and techniques in such areas as forecasting future health workforce demands, fiscal and economic indicators and labour market studies to provide economic analysis and evaluation to support health workforce planning.
- You can conduct research and analysis of various health workforce health planning, health workforce education, funding and governance issues impacting health workforce planning, policy development and provide recommendations
