Being a data scientist at Desjardins means having the drive to develop a passion for data models, machine learning concepts and quantitative fields (mathematics, finance, actuarial science, statistics, etc.).

We develop and train a wide variety of predictive and prescriptive models so we can do what's best for our members and clients.

Thanks to the models developed to measure the impact of interest rates and inflation, and even various analyses like spatial analyses, we can measure the natural disaster risks that our members and clients could face. Other initiatives focus on risk quantification and customer loyalty models.

The data scientist teams at Desjardins play a strategic role in the organization.
- The projects mentioned above are just a few examples of some data science projects. We aim to consolidate this expertise within the organization and to make sure that data scientists are able to develop their professional careers.

As a data scientist at Desjardins, you'll:
- Ensure the performance of detection, predictive or prescriptive models- Propose and develop complementary monitoring models to enhance coverage- Use very advanced and innovative statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to make full use of data, develop and optimize models and segmentations that meet business needs- Create the programming needed to prepare and mine data, and develop, evaluate, support, roll out and manage highly conceptually complex, innovative models

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, statistics, mathematics or a quantitative field- Experience in quantitative analysis and modelling- Experience in developing and implementing advanced analytics, predictive and prescriptive solutions- Strong Python or R programming skills- Strong knowledge of data science methodologies and their limits (Scikit-Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, Numpy, Scipy, XgBoost, Statsmodels, Tidyverse, Shiny, etc.)- Ability to write complex SQL queries.

Assets- Experience with Apache Spark (Pyspark) and Databricks- Experience with deep learning tools (Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)- Experience working with cloud-based platforms, like Microsoft Azure- Knowledge of SAS.
