**Profile**:
This 12-16-month internship/co-op is an opportunity to develop the IATA (International Air Transport Association) SCAP (Standard Computerized Airplane Performance) Take-off and Landing software modules for all sustaining De Havilland Canada Dash 8 models (Dash 8-100/200/300).
The IATA SCAP specification provides an industry-wide standardized means for manufacturers, operators, and third parties to exchange airplane performance data. The software modules are provided by the aircraft manufacturer, and allow the calculation of regulated take-off and landing performance data for the aircraft, based on the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM).

**SCAP is used by**:

- DHC Flight Sciences, for ongoing customers' Flight Operations support;
- DHC Marketing, incorporated into current Marketing performance analysis software (i.e. RAPIER);
- Airline customers (a chargeable option), for their flight planning (in-house, or by a 3rd party under licence).
- New SCAP modules for the Dash 8-100/200/300 will be modelled on the existing Dash 8-400 SCAP modules, which are complete and mature.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Develop new SCAP Take-off and Landing modules for selected Dash 8-100/200/300 models
- Source code
- Develop documentation
- Data tables
- Compiled executables for various operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.)

**Education and Professional Qualifications**:

- Current engineering student (bachelor’s or masters)
- Preference to students who are completing an aerospace engineering or software engineering degree
