**What Are We Looking For?**
FortisAlberta is looking for a Business Continuity Analyst who, under the direction of the Supervisor Corporate Continuity and Security, is responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of FortisAlberta’s business continuity management system. The Business Continuity Analyst plans and coordinates business continuity and disaster recovery strategies that comply with applicable regulations and organizational priorities. The position will work with departments across the organization to develop risk management procedures, continuity scenarios and contingency plans for systems and networks to maintain operations during downtime, pandemic, and major disasters. The Business Continuity Analyst will periodically test contingency capabilities, report deficiencies, and identify and coordinate resolution of issues.
**Duties include, but are not limited to**:
- Facilitate and coordinate the development of departmental business continuity plans.
- Administer and maintain Business Continuity software.
- Provide guidance on business continuity, recovery design and implementation for company-wide recovery management programs, including maturity models, methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, metrics, and scorecards for all components of the programs.
- Develop risk management procedures, business continuity scenarios, and contingencies and advise on business continuity and recovery plans.
- Work with departments to create workforce continuity plans in the event of disruption to normal business operations.
- Assist departments in resolving issues related to work area recovery planning by facilitating conversations to understand critical functions, timeframes, and gaps.
- Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, on work area recovery planning and when a business disruption occurs.
- Capitalize on business opportunities to refine business processes to mitigate exposure during disruptions of service, and, possibly, improve day-to-day operations.
- Develop schedules for training and awareness.
- Participate in new activities with appropriate groups, resulting in recommendations to enable timely, effective decisions regarding business impact, continuity, and recovery.
- Participate in and plan recovery drills.
- Perform on-going risk analysis of existing recovery plans in order to identify and make recommendations regarding critical points of failure.
- Recommend risk management strategies.
- Work with company-wide departments to ensure documentation is created and implement appropriate policies and standards.
- Assist with the execution of business continuity and recovery plan(s), ensuring that they are executed as planned.
- Interface with various departments to ensure rapid recovery.
- Participate in business continuity and recovery research efforts to ensure current plans reflect industry best practices.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of vendors by researching and providing recommendations
- Special projects or other duties as assigned

- Basic knowledge and understanding of current business continuity and recovery planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses is an asset.

- Analytical skills required to conduct risk assessments, resolve issues, and evaluate possible solutions.
- Demonstrated computer skills with advanced proficiency in Office365, TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Demonstrated administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources.
- Knowledge of codes and regulations that are applicable to the work being performed is an asset.
