**Manager of Information Technology - Term**:
**South Shore Regional Centre for Education**

The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive, diverse, equitable, safe and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties, an area of 5,250 square kilometres and a total of 23 schools.

**Position**:Manager of Information Technology

**Reports to**:Director of Operations

**Employee Group**:Non-Union

**Rate of Pay**: $68,296/annually

**Work Schedule**: 7 hours per day, 12 months of the year

**Start Date**:Indefinite Term, effective immediately

**Qualifications**:

- A degree, diploma or certification in technology.
- Experience in managing an IT team
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a Windows/Linux server environment and strong Networking
- Linux certification would be an asset.
- Experience in specifying IT projects and producing relevant documentation
- 5 years Virtual Server infrastructure experience
- IT Project Management would be an asset.
- Certifications such as MCP, MCITP, ITIL, Comptia Security + etc considered an asset.
- Experience in supervising IT staff is a requirement

**Task Dimensions**:

- Designing, implementing and documenting system cyber security as required by the RCE
- Dual Factor authentication for SSRCE Systems
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
- Privileged Access management system (PAM)
- Develop cybersecurity awareness training for SSRCE
- Develop cybersecurity system testing (Pen Testing etc)
- Develop and Maintain Disaster Recovery capabilities are required
- Manages, implements, and maintains technical and computer-related information systems used by staff in the South Shore Regional Centre for Education and bus garages as well as supervising IT staff in those areas. For example:

- Supervises the IT Systems Superviser
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining virtual environment and data centre
- Analyzing the technology requirements of the RCE offices and recommend in purchasing decisions for hardware and software.
- Maintaining network function and service.
- Performing secure backup and restore functions for all RCE data.
- Maintaining communication and consistency in practice with the school based technical services
- Actively seeks solutions for continuous organizational improvement.
- Identifying and implementing processes on data storage, integration and security issues.
- Participating in professional development activities to remain current and knowledgeable of new developments.
- Performing budget management duties as required
- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.
