Batch Plant Operator

Building Products & Concrete Supply (BP Concrete) has been part of the Winnipeg landscape since 1919. Originally known as Building Products and Coal Co., the company was formed before the days of transit mix concrete and before building sites were heated and hoarded. We delivered concrete during the April to November construction season, and sold coal and other heating products during the winter months.
Today BP Concrete continues to be the largest independent concrete producer in Manitoba. We are proud to supply the Winnipeg and surrounding areas from concrete paving, industrial, commercial and residential sectors to independent homeowners.
**What you’ll get to do**
- Accurately proportion cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures in batches to load into ready mix trucks.
- Work with Production, Transportation, and Dispatch departments regarding material delivery.
- Take responsibility for keeping accurate weight, measure, and billing information to ensure proper crediting to customer.
- Check inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives and/or specialized materials, and notify appropriate suppliers of production needs.
- Ensure the compliance with applicable environmental regulations as it relates to the proper operation of batch plant equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities and complete maintenance checklist.
- Operate a front end loader as needed.
**What We Are Looking For**
- Experience operating heavy equipment (loader)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role which often includes repetitive motion and heavy lifting
**Preferred Experience and Skills**
- Aggregates plant experience
- 2 or more years of batch plant experience
- Maintenance experience
**Work Environment**
- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.

**Salary**: $26.00-$31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
