**Summer Student - Customer Service**

**Job Title**: Cashier - Student

**Reports to**: Supervisor, Customer Service & Billing

**Department**: Customer Service

**Location**: Ashburnham Office

**Rate**:$16.50 per hour

**Position Overview**

The Cashier utilizes skills by dealing effectively and in a friendly manner with internal and external customers by telephone and in person.

**Main Accountabilities**
- Receive and process incoming payments from night deposit box, mail and banks.
- Record and balance payment transactions and other transactions and adjustments related to cash function.
- Preparation of bank deposits and related reports for the Accounting Department.
- Handle effectively a variety of problems involving bad cheques, customer complaints, payment tracing etc.
- Miscellaneous clerical duties including data entry, scanning, mailing and word processing.
- Reception duties (answering phones, greeting and directing customers).
- Assist with projects, programs and miscellaneous assignments as required.

**Education**

Must be enrolled in post secondary education and returning to full time studies in Fall 2023.

**Experience**

Experience in Customer Service, preferably in a call centre environment.

**Skills (Technical Skills)**:

- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of customer relations.
- Pleasant and courteous telephone manner
- Demonstrated initiative, good judgement and stability in executing duties of this position
- Knowledge of personal computer operations (GroupWise, Internet, Word, Excel)
- General knowledge of cash and billing systems.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance record.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity.
- Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards.
- G class drivers licence.
