**Sterile Supply Aide**

**What you’ll do**
- Washes, cleans, decontaminates, checks, assembles and wraps or packages instruments, trays, sets and equipment for the Surgical Suite and other user departments in the Agency.
- Operates ultra-sonic washer, washer sterilizer, steam autoclave and related processing equipment.
- Monitors the cleaning and sterilizing process and records results; reports abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Picks instrument sets and supplies for operative procedures according to established guidelines.
- Maintains quota of unsterile and sterile supplies and equipment by restocking depleted supplies and reprocessing outdated sterile sets, bundles and supplies in the Surgical Suite.
- Monitors supplies used in the section and advises supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
**What you bring**
- **Completion of Grade 12.**:
- **Completion of a Sterile Supply Processing Course.**
You have the ability to:
- Knowledge of medical and surgical asepsis.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job such as lifting, pushing carts, and standing.
- Ability to organize workload.
- Ability to operate related equipment such as washer sterilizer, ultra-sonic washer and steam sterilizer.
- Ability to communicate and deal effectively with all levels of staff, verbally and in writing..
You have:
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
