The Edmonton EXPO Centre is looking for **Assistant Chief Kitchen Steward** **who will be vital to executing the events coming through the venue, including **K-Days** and **Farmfair International**.
- Ensures the upkeep and preservation of the ware washing room(s).
- Ensures that all dishwashers and cleaning tools operate at their optimum potential.
- Assures all dirty dishes are brought to the main dishwashing area in an organized and efficient manner for cleaning, re-issuing and storing.
- Conducts daily inspections of all Food and Beverage areas and kitchens to ensure cleanliness and compliance with local health/sanitation codes
- Ensures service stations, clearing stations and food plating areas are set and ready for their purpose—ensures tables and needed equipment are present.
- Transports food supplies to and from storeroom or freezer to kitchen using trolley or basket.
- Ensures that all requisitions from Banquet, Culinary and others are completed and positioned accordingly.
- Assists the chief steward Conduct semi-annual and periodic inventories to ensure par stocks and resource availability are maintained within all Food and Beverage outlets and kitchens and determine breakage
- Ensures task lists are completed for kitchen stewards and stewards daily.
- Assists the chief steward Schedule preventive maintenance work and coordinate with Engineering
- Ensures all cleaning checklists are completed and accurate
- Promotes EXPO’s environment and community initiatives.
- Conversational level of the English Language - Excellent verbal and written
- Must be flexible with work schedule - available 24/7
- Knowledge of health and safety, and food safety
- Working knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemical
- Working knowledge of ware washing equipment and tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office program
- Understand SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
- WHMIS Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certification an asset
- Food Safe Certification
- ProTect and ProServe Certification an asset
- Be ready to take on another task(s)
