**The position**

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Junior Procurement Specialist supports Rocky procurement activities by ensuring all raw materials, packaging and other items are thoughtfully selected, ordered and paid for to meet production plans.

This position works from our Workshop in Canmore, Alberta.

**What you'll be doing**
- Analyze data to provide insights that assist in procurement decision-making and negotiations
- Prepare and manage data for material forecasting and analysis
- Manage inventory of raw materials, packaging and other items, and monitor safety stock for all inventory items
- Manage quality of all incoming raw materials, packaging and other items as per Rocky standards
- Assist in trials and testing of new products
- Assist in identifying and evaluating potential vendors, suppliers, and contractors
- Maintain and update accurate vendor records and test certificates
- Assist in creating and processing purchase orders in accordance with established Rocky procedures
- Support the Senior Procurement Specialist in managing relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services

**Does this sound like you?**
- Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in a science-related discipline, supply change management, or a related field
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- A science or chemistry background is an asset
- Basic understanding of procurement concepts and practices, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract management, or any legal or regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for procurement activities
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Systems knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
