Dietitian - Part-time (1 Year Term)

Reporting to the Integrated Director, Allied Health, the incumbent is responsible for performing all aspects of the management of Clinical Nutrition, direct nutrition assessment and counselling to both in-patients and out-patients referred from physicians in the Hospital’s catchment area, and provides clinical education and training to staff, community caregivers and families in adapting diets and menus to medical conditions. _All temporary assignments can be cancelled following the language of the collective agreement._
**Basic Requirements**
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Dietitians of Canada (DC) accredited university food/nutrition program or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Current member with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
- Minimum two years practical and related experience
- Completion of a supervised internship through an integrated undergrad program or post-degree
- Experienced in educating groups and precepting dietetic interns or supervising students as required
- Ability to assess and direct appropriate programs to meet the needs of patients
- Demonstrated managerial skills of planning, co-ordinating, implementing and evaluating to ensure that hospital systems contribute to quality patient care
- Ability to function in an independent, self-directed manner or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and deal with changes in tasks with short notice
- Experienced with medical software for charting and booking patients, preferably Meditech
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written format
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a wide variety of patient populations and knowledge of cultural foods and diversity
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and conflict resolution
- Ability to negotiate and advocate for patients and the Dietetic profession
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Current membership with Dietitians of Canada with access to eNCPT Nutrition Terminology Reference Manual and PEN: Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition ® knowledge translation subscription service
- Previous experience in a hospital/healthcare setting
- Experience in related specialities (dysphagia), nutrition support (enteral nutrition) and as a preceptor
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week
**Salary**: $35.07-$44.68 per hour
