**The Job**:
Sanitation Cleanup is responsible for cleaning of premises, production facilities and equipment in accordance with BCTFC Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s). Industrial equipment will be cleaned after production shift has ended and as required. All duties must be performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards and customer requirements to ensure food safety.
- Cleaning of production equipment, tools and surfaces in packing areas as well as work areas and floors.
- Cleaning of surfaces in adjacent cold storage facilities and hallways as well as building exteriors.
- Sanitization of all cleaned food contact surfaces, removal of garbage, fruit rot and debris from lines.
- Deep cleaning activities (monthly and annual tasks).
- Draining, cleaning and filling water flume systems, tanks and ORP systems as well as chlorination of water systems as required.
- Operation of machinery such as belts and rollers for the purposes of cleaning.
- Ensure all activities are recorded on Janitorial Logs in a detailed, truthful manner that accurately reflects the work performed. Ensure effective, corrective actions are recorded for activities not completed as per the schedule.
- Adhere to all pertinent SSOP’s, cleaning schedules (as per Janitorial logs), Safe Work Procedures and Food Safety requirements as outlined in the Cooperative’s Food Safety program and your training.
- Other duties as assigned by Management within the context of custodial work, including but not limited to painting and security checks of the premises.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Well organized with the ability to maintain and keep clear, detailed records with legible hand writing.
- Be physically capable to perform all duties as required, including heavy labour and sustained strenuous physical activity.
- Must be comfortable working around moving equipment; in water; in cramped, confined or enclosed spaces; with diluted cleaning chemicals, or at heights such as ladder work or on scissor lifts.
- WorkSafe BC regulations
- Approved BCTF Janitorial course and additional courses as needed by management
- Standard sanitation operating procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
- Must be reliable and maintain above average attendance.
- Must be able to perform tasks to the required standards.
- Able to work all shifts, including afternoons, evenings, graveyards and weekends, 8 hour or 10 hour shifts, as required
- First Aid Level 1 is an asset
- 1-2 years of custodian experience

**Hourly Wage = $23.46/hour ( $2.00/hour shift premium for graveyard)**
