We are looking for a creative, animated, dependable and caring person to provide instruction and support for our son with high-functioning autism, who is friendly and talkative.

In this role, you will join our son on daily walks (in the neighbourhood or near-by parks.)
Outings, such as library, gym and (if you can swim) possibly swimming at the local pool, may be done as well.
You will plan and guide in simple arts & crafts activities, simple cooking (making a smoothie) and baking, doing puzzles and exercise on the treadmill or using the WII. With your help, our son can try new activities and practice daily living skills.
This is a great opportunity for professional development, since you receive training and guidance**.** Our home-program approach uses developmental, play-based therapy, with a strong focus on communication skills.

Schedule: We are looking for someone who will support our son 2- 3 times a week, on weekdays, 4-5 hours per day (.i.e. a total of 10 or 15 hours per week.) Typically, the hours are 10AM - 3PM or 10:30 AM till 3:30PM, but there is some flexibility. Additional hours may become available in the future.

Pay: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Location: We live in the Yonge/Clark area in Thornhill.
- have experience working or volunteering with kids (Possibly as a camp-counsellor, ECE, teacher, Instructor-Therapist, Child and Youth Worker, Social Services Worker, Developmental Service Worker, psychology, kinesiology or recreational therapy program student.)
- have the ability to plan activities; and
- have a driver's license.

It may also be of interest to stay-at-home parents.
